George White, the third
child and second son of Thomas and Margaret, did not marry or have
children. Nevertheless, he left us a legacy of information in
his obituary, will, and the settlement papers of his estate.
The last document names the living heirs at law at the time of his
death in 1918. This is the only source that I have found with
the names of he children of Margaret and Mary White. It was also the
first clue that I found that led me to the descendents of Ruth White Housley in California.

I, George White, of
Shullsburg, Wisconsin being of sound disposing mind, memory and
understanding, and being mindful of the uncertainties of human life,
do now make, publish and declare thus my last will and testament as
follows.
First-- I will and direct that all of my just debts and funeral
expenses be paid as soon as may be after my decease.
Second--I hereby give and bequeath unto my niece Shirley White the
sum of Two Hundred and twenty five dollars.
Third--I hereby give and bequeath unto my nephew Ross White the sum
of one Thousand dollars.
Fourth--I hereby give and bequeath all of the rest of my property of
every kind and nature unto my sister Dorothy White.
I hereby nominate and appoint my nephew Ross White as executor of
this will and ask that no bonds be required of his in such trust.
Witness my hand and seal to the above will this 26th day of June,
1918.

The foregoing disbursement was now here signed by the testator in
our presence and we at his request, in his presence and in presence
of each other do now subscribe our names as witnesses. The testator
declared said disbursement to be his last will, and was of sound
mine and under no restraint when he executed the same.
